could be a decent side-hustle. Seems hard to scale up into a full time biz.

I know a guy who is killing it with a lawn care company. Employs like ten people and also does some light construction. Of course he had to work his ass off for the first several years.

what is a "lawn care startup"?

i tried to pitch a similar idea to a landscaping friend but he passed. he has relationships with his customers and software wouldn't improve his business much, and it already exists anyway. gig economy ideas wont work because people (specifically single dudes) don't have lawnmowers and trailers laying around like they do cars.

but yeah it's a great business in my view. consistent customers and there are a lot of one-off better-paying jobs that come from it.

like starting a weed-feed-and-mow biz. It's a self-explanatory phrase

adding "startup" implies something besides becoming the typical blue collar landscaper

I assumed that was the joke. Like JJC getting in as the first employee of a new dry cleaning startup.

I did this all through college and made solid money. Remember that you are competing with folks who have no insurance, pay no taxes, and pay their workers $5 per hour cash. If you are worried about doing things the "right" way, you will struggle to compete on price.
