I rarely hear anyone regret having kids even though they can be a pain. A parent's love for their children is the strongest love and only unconditional love that exists.

Marriage is a lulzy different story.

I have a great marriage and I also have defiant 2 year old who tantrums 1000 times a day. When he was an infant, he had colic and has generally just been a difficult child from day 1. Ask me 5 years and they may be equally enjoyable.

do you think your attitude toward breastfeeding, parenting, your enjoyment of your child relative to being a UMC(ish) marriedmo with no kids going to dinner and shit, etc., may have something to do with your child's behavior?

You know, itís my fault for saying anything about my family on here, but keep in kind pumo that im a real life person and the only thing that actually gets my blood boiling is when people who have no idea about the actual circumstances of my family make assumptions about how I parent.

All I can say is that my family is everything and I do my best everyday to be a great mother and wife. I do not need the stress right now.

nutella, have you considered any parenting books? I thought the Whole Brained Child was pretty helpful in understanding and dealing with kids' behaviors and attitudes.

I have read books but not the one you suggested. I do like books in general about child development.

Iím mainly of the school of thought though that thereís little you can do to mold your child since siblings raised exactly turn out completely differently. The best you do is set boundaries for acceptable behavior and then respect your childís personality for what it is. Itís funny how my child and I are polar opposites. Heís clearly going to be an extrovert and I am exhausted after an hour of social interaction.

I think you would like it. It explains different stages of child's brain development from a physiological perspective and how the kid's behavior is tied to the brain development at different stages. It's more about helping one understand why kids act the way they do and dealing with it in a constructive way, rather than molding behaviors. Give it a try!

Iím sorry about your situation and wouldnít attack you for it. I canít imagine being kept from seeing a young child. I hope your wife comes around soon since your daughter needs her dad.

We are trying for #2 which has been difficult and cortisol is bad for fertility etc. as a parent yourself, i expect you know how hurtful it can be when people blame you for your childís behavior, particularly when you try your best everyday. Iím the one providing him the happy childhood I never had. Wouldnít have done this parenthood thing if I all I cared about was traveling and eating out.

she's 14 months so not even just young a baby. yeah it sucks ass but I have a lot of support and am still a very fortunate soul. I also have to imagine things will work out for the best. she left me two months ago and I am still not getting overnights or mornings so my time really is limited. she is just not cooperating in general including not giving me toys for my house clothes etc all of which I've had to rebuy. but today is the first appointment with the custody mediator and I have been preparing by myself and with my lawyer for hours wish me luck!

Marriage for me is mostly take take take as I contribute little concrete value to his life. With a kid I feel more useful. You will not regret kids. My husband only argues with me about childcare relate issues (often stupid arguments regardless).

No regrets.

Marriage is hard in my 30's, as I am not a cheatmo, but the desire is overwhelming and never ending.

1.) Yes. What a sideshow circus leaning toward women. Will never get married again.

2.) Yeah-ish. I have beautiful healthy athletic white children. That said, I have 50/50 custody and still have to pay child support. Child support with 50/50 should be zero on each side. That said, Having to pay child support, despite having 50/50 custody makes me resent them and my ex wife even moar.

TBF, I'm a great dad. But every month that I hit send on the $1,203 "Child Support" payment to the ex wife, I literally get irate.

That's not too bad. You'd be paying more in California.

I used to have three things written down on the whiteboard in my old office:

1. What she spends the child support money on.

2. Who she is fucking.

3. How trashy her family is.

When a client was in my office and started ranting about one of those three things I'd point to my whiteboard and say, "You know what that list is?"

When the client would shake their head I'd say, "That is a list of things no one cares about."

I'm happy with both when you consider them on their own but it makes every other aspect of life a lot more difficult.

I'm unmarried, and after seeing what my married friends go through, I'm very glad that I dodged that bullet. Seems like absolute hell, especially if the wife is only average looking or ugly.
